    Biggest Loser Wyoming 200 02-10-2012 A popular weight-loss program announced it will open a destination resort in Wyoming County. The resorts focus on exercise, healthy nutrition and education. The resort is scheduled to open in May 2012 and expected to create 200 jobs in a variety of fields.
    Calvary Automation Systems Monroe 100 07-17-2012 The manufacturer of special machinery and automated systems plans to add up to 100 jobs over the next year as part of an expansion that includes moving its headquarters to Webster. The company is looking to hire engineers and technicians with the majority of the positions paying between $40,000 and $100,000.
    Closing USA LLC Monroe 100 02-09-2012 The title and escrow company is expanding and plans to more than double its workforce with 100 new jobs within the next year or so. As part of the company's growth plan, they plan to take on services such as search network management, online record searching and notary network management - items that it has been outsourcing.
    Crosby-Brownie Monroe 70 04-30-2012 The mechanical construction company has been chosen to build heating, cooling, plumbing and other mechanical systems for the two yogurt plants going up in Batavia. It expects to employ up to 70 people at the job sites.
    Darien Lake Genesee 1000 04-30-2012 The amusement park needs about 1,000 people for the 2012 season for food service, park services, ride operations, retail, accommodations, campground housekeeping and other departments.
    Earthlink Monroe 50 10-12-2012 The company is hiring 50 new employees for an expanded data center. Rochester now has the company's largest employee base with 445 workers.
    Genesee Brewing Co. Monroe 70 03-16-2012 The brewery is hiring for 70 jobs, 50 of them newly created to staff a production line for frozen mixed drinks packaged in single-serve pouches. The 50 new jobs are on packaging machine lines for three shifts. The other 20 jobs are scattered throughout the brewery, from packaging lines to administrative positions.
    Gleason Corp. Monroe 40 02-24-2012 The manufacturer has steadily increased its local workforce by more than 150 people in the last 18 months and is looking to add 40 more. The company develops, manufactures and sells gear-production machinery and related equipment and employs roughly 700 people in Rochester. Its products are used by customers in automotive, truck, aircraft, agriculture, mining, windpower, construction, power tool and marine industries, as well as various industrial equipment markets.
    Goulds Pumps Seneca 50 11-14-2012 The company is investing in a $22 million expansion plant to improve how it develops, produces and tests pumps for the oil and gas industry. The expansion is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2013 and will add a minimum of 50 jobs, most of which are manufacturing related and will include equipment operators, assemblers, shippers and machinists, as well as supervisors and operations professionals.
    Health Sciences Center for Computation Innovation Monroe 900 08-03-2012 One of the world's most powerful supercomputers that will be used for health research to find solutions to the nation's health problems will be housed at the University of Rochester. The partnership between the U of R and IBM is expected to create 900 jobs at the University.
    HomeGoods Ontario 60 03-27-2012 The national off-price home furnishing chain is opening a store in Victor and is expected to produce 60 full- and part-time positions.
    Manning & Napier Inc. Monroe 67 02-24-2012 The investment firm had a net gain of 67 employees in 2011 and plans to add about the same number in 2012. Most of the new hires last year were in accounting.
    Maximus Inc. Monroe 165 04-30-2012 The business process outsourcing firm plans to open a new Pittsford facility by mid-May with roughly 325 Rochester-area workers. The firm is in the midst of renovating a Pittsford site where it will consolidate its existing local offices as well as numerous jobs from Pennsylvania. The firm will handle Medicare health appeals adjudication. The jobs will include a number of administrative and clinical positions such as nurses, physical therapists and doctors.
    Muller Quaker Dairy LLC Genesee 180 08-03-2012 The yogurt plant will open in about a year with 180 employees. The project is expected to employ 600 people within a few years.
    Optimation Technology Monroe 100 02-08-2012 The company bought the assets of a bankrupt manufacturing plant and will move the equipment and operations to Rochester, adding up to 100 local jobs over the next two years. They will rent additional square footage at their fabrication shop to accommodate the new equipment. The company provides design, engineering, construction and maintenance services to industrial clients.
    Optimation Technology Inc. Monroe 115 09-19-2012 The company, which purchased the maker of metal cutting assembly equipment earlier this year, is planning to set up that operation in Rochester with the promise of as many as 115 jobs created over the next three years.
    Premiere Credit of North America, LLC Genesee 50 01-26-2012 A leading national accounts receivable management company is expanding their operations and opening a call center in Batavia. They expect to employ 50 people and be up and running by March 1, 2012.
    Rochester Precision Optics LLC Monroe 150 04-12-2012 The lens and optical assembly maker is expanding its facility and expects to nearly double its size, adding 150 positions over the next three years.
    U.S. Postal Service Monroe 420 02-24-2021 Due to high fixed costs and declining revenue, the Postal Service is proceeding with a nationwide consolidation plan and has confirmed moving a mail processing operation from Buffalo to the Henrietta facility, which means the likely addition of 420 jobs for the Rochester area. No date was set for this change to take effect other than it would be implemented later this year.
    Verizon Wireless Monroe 200 10-25-2012 The company plans to hire 200 full-time customer care and technical support workers for its call center in 2013. Most of the hiring will be to fill existing positions as they come open, though there will be some growth.
    Xerox Corp. Monroe 500 01-27-2012 The company will purchase information technology systems and equipment to provide support for its services clients and develop a call center in Webster that will provide about 500 positions. Renovations are expected to be complete by October 2012 and hiring will begin in March 2012.

    Cryovac Monroe 186 02-10-2012 As part of a streamlining effort, the maker of food packaging products plans to shut down its Gates plant over the next year and move the work done at the plant to other North American facilities. The company makes vacuum shrink bags and materials, tray lid packaging and other types of plastic skins for food processors and food manufacturers, as well as for customers.
    Delfingen US Inc. Wyoming 37 08-30-2012 The plastics product manufacturing company will lay off its 37 employees on December 1, 2012.
    Eastman Kodak Co. Monroe 79 06-08-2012 As part of the company's restructuring plan, 79 employees in the photographic and equipment and supply unit will be laid off in mid-August.

    JPMorgan Chase & Co. Orleans 74 08-24-2012 The company is cutting 74 employees from its mortgage servicing unit with the cuts effective mid-October. The cuts are necessary because the mortgage servicing workload has lessened as the mortgage crisis has eased.
    Lakeside Health System Monroe 35 04-12-2012 The facility, which has struggled in competition with larger local hospitals, is implementing an internal rescue plan that includes layoffs, a reduction in hours for hundreds of workers and an appeal to doctors and patients to use the hospital more. About 10 workers will be laid off initially, with an additional 25 losing their jobs in the next week or so.
    MVP Health Monroe 24 05-04-2012 The health insurance organization is in the process of reducing costs to keep health care affordable and also to remain competitive and is laying off 24 Rochester-area employees.
    Regional Elite Airline Services Monroe 51 09-12-2012 Tlhe Delta Air Lines subsidiary that provides customer service services for Delta's regional carrier flights based at the Greater Rochester International Airport is closing. Fifty-one employees will be affected.
    Sigma International Orleans 78 08-08-2012 The surgical and medical instrument manufacturing company will lay off 78 employees on July 25, 2012.
    Unity Health System Monroe 72 07-03-2012 A total of 72 management, supervisory and support positions are being eliminated. Thirty of the positions were vacant. Of the remaining 42, four employees were moved to other positions within the health system. None of the positions were involved directly in caring for hospital patients or nursing home residents.
    Vette Thermal Solutions, LLC Wayne 84 11-08-2012 The special die and tool, die set, jig and fixture manufacturing company is closing in February 2013, affecting 84 workers.
