Albany, NY (June 09, 2014) -

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced eight upcoming customized job recruitment events in the Capital District, Southern Tier, Hudson Valley and Western New York regions this week. In 2012 and 2013, these types of customized recruitment events run by the State Department of Labor helped 600 businesses target and hire nearly 33,000 individuals.

"These specialized career recruitment events are a win-win-they provide information about job openings to the hard-working New Yorkers currently in search of employment, while simultaneously reducing the time, energy and resources that businesses must put into expanding their workforce," Governor Cuomo said. "With the State's help, thousands of New Yorkers have been hired in the past two years through events like these, and hundreds of businesses have gained the labor power they need to continue growing. Businesses are ready to hire in New York, and I encourage job seekers to check the Department of Labor's website for information on the next recruitment event in their area."
