Final Regulations for the Workplace Safety and Loss Preventive Incentive Program (Part 60,
12 NYCRR)

Section 134(6-10) of the Workers’ Compensation Law (WCL) was amended in 2007 to provide employers additional incentives to implement voluntary safety and loss prevention programs. The program allows certain employers to receive a reduction in workers' compensation costs for implementing a Safety Incentive Program, a Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program, and/or a Return to Work Program. Criteria also was established in the regulations for the certification of Safety and Loss Management Specialists who perform such services for this program.
