The search category Labor Force by Occupational Group provides data for the 14 EEO Occupational Groups and a labor force total by gender. This classification is more detailed than the 9 occupational groups in the EEO data for the 1990 Census. See table for comparison. The 14 EEO occupational groups DO NOT sum up to the labor force total because some job seekers lack recent job experience and could not be placed in an occupation. Data is available by county, Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs), and for New York 8-county and 10-county areas.

The search category Labor Force by Detailed Occupation provides data for 471 detailed occupations, and a labor force total by gender. Data is available for New York State, 50 single county or county groups, MSAs, and for New York 8-county and 10-county areas. The Census Bureau created county groups by adding counties with a population less than 50,000 to larger adjacent counties in order to meet population thresholds for the sparsely populated counties. Data is presented in two tables, one containing raw numbers and one containing percentages.

The search category Population & Labor Force Status provides Population and Labor Force Status data by race, Hispanic origin and gender. Data is available by county, Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSAs), and for New York 8-county and 10-county areas.

Data is presented in two tables, one containing raw numbers and one containing percentages. The data are based on workers residences and are taken from the Census 2000 Special EEO Tabulation. The data on race in Census 2000 are not directly comparable to those collected in previous censuses. To make the data easier to use, the race structure provided here is an abridged configuration of the Census race structure.
