| On-Site Consultation Program The On-Site Consultation Program is a free business resource of the New York State Department of Labor Division of Safety and Health. Funding is provided by the US Department of Labor and NYS Department of Labor to help employers provide a safe and healthful workplace for their employees by offering professional occupational safety and health assistance. Why should an employer consider using the On-Site Consultation Program? It’s good for business. Not only are the services provided at no cost to businesses and organizations in our state, but they are also confidential and free of state and federal enforcement activities. Additionally, the Consultation Program can help employers reduce workplace accidents; lessen Workers’ Compensation costs; assist with implementing safety and health programs; and help comply with OSHA regulations. The cost associated with a workplace injury can be staggering with both direct and indirect costs for something that in most cases can easily be prevented. Each year we provide help to many thousands of businesses across the state by furnishing cost-effective solutions. The services offered include on-site consultation surveys for the identification of potential safety hazards as well as industrial hygiene surveys for determining air contaminant and noise exposure levels. The safety and industrial hygiene professionals who perform these consultation visits have many years of experience and are well trained at the US DOL OSHA Training Institute. Training Programs for Businesses Training is also available in a wide variety of occupational safety and health topics including Accident Investigation, Hazard Communication, Recordkeeping Rule, 10-hour Construction Safety Course, Safety for Workers in the Hospitality and Tourism Industries, and Preventing Workplace Violence to name just a few. In fact, we now offer more than thirty free courses to help educate employers and their workers. To see a copy of our Training Course Catalogue click here.
