On-Site Consultation Program
The On-Site Consultation Program is a free business resource. The US Department of Labor and NYS Department of Labor fund this program. It helps employers provide a safe and healthful workplace for their employees through professional occupational safety and health assistance.
Why should an employer consider using the On-Site Consultation Program? It’s good for business. The services provided are:
- At no cost to businesses and organizations in our state
- Confidential
- Freefrom state and federal enforcement activities

Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP)
This program is open to employers who:
- Receive a comprehensive consultation
- Correct all hazards
- Institute an effective safety and health program
It makes them eligible for a three-year exemption from a general scheduled OSHA inspection. Employers also can ask to take part in our SHARP developmental program. This makes them eligible for an OSHA inspection deferral as they work towards SHARP.
