- Receives, reviews, and acts upon applications for funding of capital projects designed to abate occupational safety and health hazards which have been found by the Commissioner of Labor to violate Section 27-a of the Labor Law.
- Receives, reviews, and acts upon applications for occupational safety and health training and education grants pursuant to Article 29 of the Labor Law.
- Recommends occupational safety and health standards to the Commissioner of Labor for adoption that protect public sector employees.
