SCHOOL -TO-WORK APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (SWAP)

This program combines supervised on-the-job training and specific related instruction in an academic setting to prepare secondary students for skilled employment. Through the coordinated efforts of local school districts, sponsors, and the State Education Department, students are enrolled in apprenticeship programs that are registered and monitored by the State Department of Labor.

The intent of SWAP is to transition students, upon graduation, into full-time apprenticeship programs leading to a journey worker certification in the occupation.
