What You Need to Know
May 2024
  • WARN Dashboard: We are excited to announce the launch of our Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Dashboard, a new tool designed to enhance labor market transparency by providing detailed data on WARN notices across New York State. This dashboard is a key part of our efforts toward technology modernization and greater transparency, offering users insights into the latest workforce trends through interactive maps, charts, and tables.
  • Help Shape the Services We Offer: We’re looking to better support job seekers by aligning resources more effectively and helping businesses understand their needs. Our annual survey is for those looking for work (e.g. unemployed, underemployed, looking for a new job, etc.). The survey only takes 5 to 10 minutes to complete and will be open through May 10. Responses are completely anonymous and will not impact UI benefits.
  • NYS DOL Business Services: Whether your business is growing by leaps and bounds or struggling in today’s difficult climate, we’re here to help. View our new Business Services factsheet and scan the QR codes for more information.
  • Youth Worker Pledge: Employers, help us protect New York’s youth workers! In 2023, Governor Kathy Hochul tasked the New York State Department of Labor to create the Protect Youth Workers Pledge for employers as a part of a broader initiative to protect youth workers within the state.
Ensuring Equality in the Workplace
Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
The New York State Department of Labor (DOL) is committed to diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for the customers we serve and for our own staff. We recognize that each New Yorker who comes through our doors —whether brick and mortar or virtual—has different circumstances and we believe in accessibility to assure they have a clear pathway to learn about and utilize whatever services they need. We use data to help inform and drive outcomes to move the needle on DEI in NY. And, we work to create an environment where our own employees are empowered and diversity can thrive.
